Gig Review
-----------------
The Old Oak, Cork City on Wednesday October 6th
After arriving at the venue well in advance of the gig the anticipation was building. The lads did
a sound check and bang-they disappeared behind the satge curtain, not to be seen until 10:30pm!
The support band, The Sneakies came on to do their sound check and to be honest at first I thought
that they weren't quite too good but I was proved wrong once they had sorted the sound and played their support slot. They
have an EP coming out soon so keep a look out for it as I think they are quite good and deserve some support.
The venue was filling up quite a bit as the support band played and finally at 10:30 Jerry and the
lads came out on stage to a rapturous applause. They swung into 'My Friend Jim' in style and it carried on throughout the
night. The highlights of the gig for me were that person gatecrashing the stage and dancing with Jerry (brilliant!) and Jesus
Brady. I was standing just 3 feet from him on stage and I could see every string on his guitar being plucked-an amazing sight
and on the night he indeed mad ethat guitar almost walk on stage and sing!
Buzz banged those drums fantastically agai, he never seems to lack energy for them!
That solo by Stefano was also fantastic and lead into a fantastic musical extravaganza with the whole
crowd wowed by a fantastic show.
They left the satge after the song 'Be Yourself' but after a hell of a lot of poublic demand they
played an encore!
I got up the next morning, wrecked and the following morning in the exact same condition but all
I have to do is think back on the gig and I'm ready to go see him again - whatever the time I'm up until!
***************** - - - normally a gig would get 5 stars outta 5, as tops but this gig surpasses
all that!!!
